Brianna Armstrong is a vivacious Afro-Latina Fine Multimedia Fiber & Textile Artist, Fashion Designer, Model, Creative Director, Actress, Princess, and Registered Behavioral Technician based in Lexington, KY. She received her BFA degree at the University of Kentucky while majoring in Art Studio in December of 2020. In 2021, CEO Brianna Armstrong launched her fashion business Designs By Bri Marie. Since then, her designs have been spotted and modeled in locations such as LAFW, Houston, TX, Chicago, lL, Phuket, Thailand, and Athens, Greece. Ms. Armstrong fearlessly pushes creative boundaries while finding innovative ways to improve her world around her.
Jayda J currently works as a painter and shaper at Hadley Pottery, a historic woman-founded pottery factory, and as an instructor at Whet Your Palette Art House, where she shares her love of art with new generations. Her work has been curated and exhibited locally, highlighting themes of memory, resilience, and the complexities of collective history.
Through richly textured surfaces, archival imagery, and symbolic motifs, Jayda blends Afro-surrealism and expressive mark-making to uncover deeper truths about identity, memory, and the human condition. Her work not only honors the resilience and beauty of the Black and Arab experience but also calls for a reckoning with the legacies of history and the realities we construct today.
