Mabel Zaglul

Mabel Zaglul’s artistic journey began in Argentina, where the rich cultural landscape and
vibrant traditions first ignited her passion for creativity. A self-taught artist, she creates evocative
and visually compelling works that reflect personal experiences and cultural narratives. In 2024,
she was juried into the prestigious Kentucky Crafted Program by the Kentucky Arts Council. For
more than two decades, she has made Lexington, Kentucky, her home.
Her practice is fueled by a deep love for color, movement, and the boundless possibilities of
mixed media. Working in abstraction allows her to convey emotions, ideas, and sensations
through colors, shapes, lines, textures, and compositions. With an emphasis on the visual and
expressive, her abstract art prioritizes color, form, rhythm, and composition to awaken a sensory
and emotional experience. Rather than depicting “what we see,” Zaglul invites viewers to
experience “what we feel” and “imagine.” Through this process, she strives to spark emotion,
ignite curiosity, and offer a glimpse into the beauty that surrounds us all—encouraging others to
see the world through a different lens.
